Musi-Café
819-583-4433
5078, rue Frontenac,
Lac-Megantic
Quebec, Canada
I still remember my first experience at the Musi-Café about 9 months ago. My stomach was rotting from the filter garbage that passes itself off as coffee in Canada/USA and I walked into this joint because I’d heard that they have over 30 beers on offer. After a basic but pleasant meal I asked for a cafe au lait. Much to my suprise, the owner smiled and said “Cafe au lait or Latté monsieur?”. WOW!!
I was in heaven.
My heart thumped and my temples pounded at the prospect of having a real coffee and Musi-Café did not dissappoint.
If you’re after great music (a steady blend of blues-roots) and a casual easy eatery in the Eastern Townships then I would recommend the Musi-Café. The coffee is always of an equally good standard, the food is consistantly good and basic (even though it tries hard to be fancy) and they hire some of the better looking staff in town.
My only complaint is the price of the coffee. It is really bloody expensive for a take away, but given the area it is in and the level of quality surrounding it, I give Musi-Café 4 beans.

CafeGeek is a little something that I started early this year to help alleviate my cultural and culinary isolation in the arse end of the Francosphere. The podcast that you have just, are or will listen to is based on the mandate of the site and that is:
To build a global community of cafe and coffee lovers who can rate and review cafes regardless of their level of expertise.
I’d originally hoped to find cafes in Nth America that were of a decent standard and to meet people who had similar interests to me. Check and check on both counts. If you would like to visit the site, just click on the badge below and have a read and join. Hell, it’s free!!
